“This Navratri, Ujjwala Yojana brings a special gift – 25 lakh new LPG connections. With this, the reach of Ujjwala will now brighten 10.60 crore homes across Bharat,” Puri said in a social media platform X on Monday.
Launched in 2016, the Ujjwala Yojana is the world’s largest clean fuel mission, offering deposit-free stoves, cylinders, and the first refill to beneficiaries.
He added that 90 pc of LPG refills are now booked online, with safety checks conducted for every delivery, further ensuring convenience and security for households.
Praising the scheme as a symbol of empowerment and a source of transformation, the Minister said that Ujjwala has not only made kitchens smoke-free but has also improved the health and lives of millions of women and their families.
“Ujjwala is more than LPG — it represents freedom from smoke, dignity for women, and comfort for families under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s people-centric leadership,” Puri said.
